Hi, I’m Mckinley Witbrodt, founder of The Wedding Prep Co. With nearly 10 years of experience in the wedding industry, I’ve seen firsthand how overwhelming wedding planning can feel. especially when you’re doing it without a planner.
I created The Wedding Prep Co. for brides who want clear direction without the high price tag, and for couples who have family or friends ready to help on the big day. Because when it comes to weddings, you don’t know what you don’t know and I’m here to guide you through it.
My Story
I’ve always known I wanted to plan weddings. There’s just something about the energy, the details, and the once-in-a-lifetime moments that felt like home to me.
My journey actually began in high school when I worked at a bridal store. Being around brides, gowns, and the excitement of wedding planning at such a young age completely captivated me. I loved watching someone find the dress and seeing how meaningful even the smallest details could be.
That passion followed me into college, where I planned a 5K for my sorority. It was my first experience organizing an event from start to finish. I fell in love with the logistics, the timelines, the moving pieces, and the satisfaction of seeing everything come together seamlessly.
One summer, I took a leap and worked in New York at Kleinfeld Bridal, the Say Yes to the Dress store. Being surrounded by brides every day and seeing behind the scenes of such an iconic bridal brand confirmed that this industry was exactly where I belonged.
After moving to St. Louis, I officially stepped into the bridal world full time. I worked within the industry and later spent several years as a venue coordinator, guiding couples through one of the most important seasons of their lives. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with more than 175 couples, each one unique and each one teaching me something new about what truly matters on a wedding day.
Eventually, I took the leap to start my own company.
Now, as a wife, mom to two sweet kids, and dog mom to our doodle, my perspective has shifted in the best way. I understand how full life can be and how valuable time, clarity, and support really are. That’s why I’ve shaped my business to serve couples who want guidance without the overwhelm. Whether they need structured planning sessions, practical tools, or simply a trusted voice in their corner, I’m here to meet them where they are.
Because planning a wedding should feel joyful, not stressful, and no couple should feel like they have to figure it all out alone. ✨
